I was going to say that when he says not to let your left hand know what the right hand is doing that it's more along the lines that we shouldn't do it to impress others, that the gift is between us and God and not those around us. When giving alms at mass I will usually fold up notes so as to not make it obvious where I have observed others who make sure that their neighbor sees what they are putting in.

It also brings to mind the passage where Jesus talks about the poor woman who puts all that she has compared to the man who puts in from his excess.

Although I have read the Bible many times and continue to do so, I find it difficult sometimes to compose my thought properly. I hate to say something and have it come out wrong.

John & Sarita,
I am a neophyte in the world of blogging and acknowledge I need to 'get with the program'. Just wanted to make a quick comment that I think this blog is outstanding and is filled with a 'wealth' of information for families. As you can well imagine, we interact with all the issues you raise on a regular basis and it is important that families think wisely about these matters. I can tell that you are dedicating a great deal of time to helping families do just that...and I wanted to encourage you that I believe doing so is a wise (& eternal) investment of your time.

Keep up the great work here and at Sonlight (also, thanks for sending out the Faith Comes by Hearing CD for Christmas).

You can certainly consider me to be a faithful reader. Also, I have known M_____ for many years and found him to be one of the best planners with whom we have worked.

ps-You may recall we met at the GG conference earlier this year. If you will send me your contact info there are a couple things I would like to forward to you that might be helpful. It appears we both share the affliction of being bibliophiles.
